“Beautiful Life” is a joyful admonition to hang tough when times get hard. The singer refuses to compromise who she is on “Never Gonna Say I’m Sorry,” and reverently alludes to God on various tracks. “Ravine” is a metaphor for her struggle with pride, which she credits the Lord with healing. Prayers for a better world (“nothing to cry for/no one to die for”) provide material for “Perfect World.” “Experience Pearls” believes Romans 8:28-that good things can come from bad situations.
One otherwise positive song, (“My Deja Vu”) includes the line “I wanna see you dancing naked.” Another uses a mild profanity (a-).
The Swedish foursome Ace of Base trades on electrified grooves and generally upbeat lyrics. Optimism. Humility. Willingness to serve others. With the noted exceptions, The Bridge is a fine effort.
